If you have been searching for a job for a while remember a lot of companies hire in January after their budgets are set for the year. It is good time to go back over your contact list and make sure it is up to date. It sure doesn’t hurt to give a contact a call or send them an e-mail a few days after they are settled in getting back from the holidays. Remember the most important thing in a job search is expanding your number of contacts. The more contacts you have the better chance of getting hired. Your contact list can include hiring managers at potential companies, friends and friends of friends. You have to work on getting your name out there, but it is worth it in the end.
